The inspiration behind the Giglets range
Here at Giglets we believe that our nation, Scotland, has some fantastic stories to tell. We also believe that they are not always told in the most exciting or unique ways. As a result, we have created the character Tam O’Haggis to allow Scotland’s history, heritage, culture and literature to become more attractive and accessible to the young children of today.
Moreover, in today’s fast paced world there is a danger of our history being forgotten about, if not at the very least relegated in importance within both the home and at school. Giglets hopes that through its work we can help to keep all that is good - and not so good - about Scotland for another couple of hundred years.
To allow children to understand and appreciate our culture and why we are the way we are today more effectively we believe that it must be simplified, condensed and brought to life. Through the adventures of our lovable wee character Tam O’Haggis we firmly believe we are going to achieve that. As a result; “Opening a learning gateway to Scotland”.
