About Giglets

Fiona Morton

Author

Well, it’s fair to say that without me, Giglets’ books would be nothing more than illustrations. My keen interest in creative writing has been put to great use whilst in Giglets and I am proud to say that I am a published author of two fantastic books, “Tam O’Haggis” and “Tam O’Haggis: The Life and Times of Robert Burns”.

We began as a group of friends in 6th year at school that set out to create a new and exciting way for children to learn about Burns and I think you’ll agree this has been achieved. I think what makes Giglets unique is that every member has different passions and although the company may not be their future, it most certainly has been a huge influence on making them the people they are today. I don’t think we should ever forget how we have become such a success.

Unfortunately after two incredible years with Giglets, it is now time for me to put down my pen and pick up my stethoscope. I am about to go into my third year studying medicine at Edinburgh University so in three years time if you come across a newly qualified Dr Morton then please say hi! Outside of my studies, I am a keen football referee and this season I will be scaling the dizzy heights of the Women’s Scottish Premier League and youth football at under 21 level.

I never could have imagined the company would take off in the way it has and it gives me no pleasure to be leaving Giglets but I feel it is the right time for us to go our separate ways and I know I have been part of something quite extraordinary at such a young age.
